Our Boxing program here at GR is Instructed by our most experienced Professional/Amateur fighters. Our Team has won many fights by KO/TKO/Decisions thanks to this program both in the Ring and the Cage!
It doesn't matter whether you intend to compete, are training for fun, or fitness we are here to help you meet your goals.
The Boxing classes always focus on the fundamentals of Boxing aka "The Sweet Science" as you will develop accurate punches, good head movement, fast yet heavy hands, smooth footwork, etc. Unlike many Boxing schools our Boxing program also teaches Dirty Boxing for MMA and Boxing techniques that can be used in Muay Thai both for offense and defense as well.
Classes consist of rope, plyometrics/calisthenics, shadow boxing, pad work, bag work, partner drilling, & of course sparring. You will find that this is one of the most challenging yet rewarding things that you will ever do. Boxing will teach you to rely on yourself, to value the input of others, and most importantly to respect both your own skills and those of others.
Equipment/Gear needed - In the Boxing class participants must wear hand wraps, a mouth piece, groin protection, shorts, and a shirt. Also while its not mandatory to have at first all particpants should consider getting there own boxing gloves(14oz to 16oz), and head gear for sparring. The gym does have some equipment for borrowing during class times for our newer students.
This class is offered three times per week; Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
