Our approach here at the GriffonRawl Academy is simple, "if it doesn't work, we don't teach it". All of our programs are not only designed to benefit those who intend to compete, but are also designed to teach Self-Defense while getting you in shape. Mixed Martial Arts is currently one of the fastest growing sports in the world today! However, do not be fooled, the styles we teach have proven their effectiveness inside and outside of the ring time and time again. Competing is not a mandatory requirement for attending any of our classes. Competitions we currently compete in are Muay Thai, Boxing, BJJ, & MMA.
The GriffonRawl MMA Academy
is located in Mentor
Ohio which is about a half an hour east of
downtown Cleveland. We are one of the
premier MMA Academy’s in the state of
Ohio. We have a very large fight team which consists of
over 30 active amateur fights and currently 6 professionals and
growing. We stay very active as a team and compete a minimum of
at least once every month. Our gym is not just for fighters
however and we welcome beginners who are just looking for a
chance to train in the arts we teach to get in shape, learn to
fight to be able to defend themselves, and or just want to have
a lot of fun.
Our Academy is about 6,000 sq feet and is set broken into two sides. Side 1 has a about 1,000 square foot section of mats that we use for group training along with a row of 6 Thai Bags for our striking classes. We use side 1 for warm ups and more for the beginners. Side 1 also has are
MMA store where you can get all of your training gear, apparel, etc to meet your needs. Side 2 is more for our fight team and advanced students seeing as it is where are Boxing Ring, and Cage is set up. We are the official cage of
Ohio’s premier MMA organization the NAAFS and also rent our cage out to any local
MMA promoters that may be interested. Side two also has some adjustable speed bags, heavy bags, and showers for use. If your looking to be the best come train with some of the best!
